Course Content
Getting acquainted, giving information about the general flow of the course, introducing the traditional Turkish carpet and explaining its importance.
Objectives of the Course
Within the scope of basic information about the traditional Turkish carpet art, the color, motif, composition and technical features of our traditional carpets, as well as the tools and materials used will be taught. Carpet pattern preparation methods, carpet quality concept and quality calculations will be explained. Based on the examples of traditional Anatolian and palace weavings, motif development, composition coloring, technical solutions are explained practically and theoretically. As an application, local carpet samples are selected and documentation studies are carried out in line with their technical solutions. In addition, original designs adapted from Anatolian and palace weaving samples and for contemporary usage areas are made.
