Defining the steel structures, Selecting roof coverage and connection types, Calculation of snow and wind loads Purlin analysis, Modelling and analysing moment resisting steel frames, Determining of optimum structural frame weight, Ultimate load carrying capacity of steel frame, Connection design (welded connections), Connection design (bolted connections), Design of base plates and anchorages, Preparing bill of quantities and drawings
Objectives of the Course
The main objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge about the sizing of a steel structure and detailing the connection types.
