Course Content
Ortez kullanılması gereken patomekanik durumlar, ortezlerin amaçları, kullanılan materyal ve teknoloji, alt ve üst ekstremite ortezleri ve rehabilitasyonu, gövde ortezleri ve rehabilitasyonu, ortez kullanımı ile karşılaşılabilecek sorun ve komplikasyonların önlenmesi ve giderilmesine yönelik çözümler, ortezin teknik ve biyomekanik kontrolü.
Objectives of the Course
To improve the ability of physiotherapy students to solve patient specific problems by providing information about orthotics, indications, applications, and modifications, and teaching the possible complications of orthosis practices, and planning and implementing appropriate treatment programs that will increase the effectiveness of orthotics and rehabilitation.

1 | Introduction to orthosis, orthosis usage purposes, examples of basic usage areas, materials used in orthosis construction. |
2 | Joints in the foot and ankle joint, basic functions of the foot, arches of the foot, innervation and dynamic biomechanics of the foot. |
3 | Purposes of foot orthoses, pes planus, pes planovalgus, pes cavus, anterior transverse arch drop, hallux valgus-rigitus, morton's toe, morton's neuroma, claw and hammer toe, plantar fasciitis, calcaneal epin, talipes calcaneo varus and valgus, talipes equino varus and orthoses used for these deformities |
4 | Ankle foot orthoses used in the treatment of clubfoot, equinus deformity, instable ankle problems, weakness of plantar flexor muscles and cerebral palsy. |
5 | Orthotopic approach in the mechanical and traumatic pathologies of the knee Clinical features of the congenital hip dislocation, symptoms and treatment of orthosis |
6 | Long walking orthoses and indications, mechanical knee joints, meningomyelocele and orthoses used in the treatment according to the level, fracture orthoses. |
