Course Content
This course aims to help students interact with academic texts while also helping them acquire both active and passive knowledge of important academic and technical terminology in their field. Students read engaging texts from the engineering sciences. The course also places a strong emphasis on developing reading skills relevant to the academic classroom, such as scanning, making inferences, working with graphs and tables, and recognizing context clues. In addition, students develop the skills necessary to critically approach English texts, understanding stated or implied ideas and values, and comparing authors' ideas with their own.
Objectives of the Course
The central basis of 99900013 is to consolidate students'academic and critical approach to thinking, reading, speaking, writing and language usage, as initiated in 99900012. In addition, students further develop their reading skills relevant to the academic classroom
