Course Content
Elements of electric drive systems. Introduction to solid state devices. Introduction to solid state switching circuits. Controlled rectifiers for DC motors. Chopper drives for DC motors. Induction motor drives and synchronous motor drives.
Objectives of the Course
This course teaches the basic principles of drive systems for DC and AC electric motors by introducing the characteristics of electrical, mechanical, and electronic components of the drive systems considering the widespread engineering applications.
