Methods and Techniques 1. Theoretical Explanation: Topics are covered theoretically within the scope of the course. Detailed lectures are provided so that students can fully grasp the fundamental architecture of operating systems, kernel design, process and thread management, memory hierarchy, and virtualization concepts. 2. Step-by-Step Analysis: Specifically, CPU scheduling algorithms, deadlock scenarios, and memory management problems such as paging are solved step-by-step. Process state transitions and synchronization mechanisms (mutexes, semaphores) are detailed to ensure students develop a strong command of how hardware resources are shared and managed by the operating system. 3. Real-Life Examples: To facilitate a better understanding of the topics, real-world scenarios involving system calls, POSIX thread (pthread) applications, and modern virtualization techniques such as containerization (Docker) or hypervisor-based setups (KVM, QEMU) are presented. This allows students to see how theoretical concepts are applied in practice within modern operating system kernels and distributed software architectures.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face
