Course Content
Geographical Features of Africa, the Phoenicians, the Carthaginians, the Punic Wars, Roman Rule, the Vandal Invasion, the Byzantine Reconquest, the Early Islamic Conquests, the Umayyads, the Abbasids, the Aghlabids, Idrisids, Rustamids, Fatimids, Almoravids, Almohads, Merinids, Abd al-Wadids, and Hafsids.
Objectives of the Course
To teach students the history of North Africa, beginning with the Phoenician period and extending through the Ottoman era.
