Course Content
Law in the Turkish State and societies before Islam, changes in the understanding of Islam and Turkish law, Turkish-Islamic Law, Westernization process of Turkish Law, Sened-i İttifak, Gulhane Hattı Humayunu, Islahat Fermanı, I. and II. Meşrutiyet movements, Kanun-i Esasi, Changes in the Turkish Legal System during the Republican Period.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to make students think about the current problems of our legal system by comparing the emergence of Turkish law and institutions and the transformations in historical process.
