Course Content
Overview of Turkestan geography. Russian expansion in the Turkic world. Turkestan khanates, Turkestan during the Tsarist period. Reform movements in the Idyll Ural Region and Crimea, Ismail Gaspıralı and Tercüman Newspaper, Reform Movements in the North Caucasus and Azerbaijan, Reform movements in the Kazakh and Kyrgyz steppes, Press in Russian Turks, Usul-ı Jedit schools, Abdurreşid İbrahim and his activities, Russian Turks in the 1905 Revolution, Ufa Congress (10-15 April 1905), 1st, 2nd, 3rd meetings of Russian Muslims, Muslim deputies and their activities in DUMA. , 2nd, 3rd meetings, Muslim deputies and their activities in DUMA, revival of nationalism consciousness in Russian Turks in 1905 and after (Musa Akyiğitzâde, Fatih Kerimî), World War I and Turkestan Turks, 1916 uprisings and their results, Basmachi Movement, 1917 Revolutions, First Congress of All Russian Muslims (May 1-11, 1917), Establishment of the Soviet Union.
