Course Content
Historical, geographical, and cultural factors that shaped Ottoman architecture. Religious buildings, educational structures, commercial buildings, dervish lodges, tomb monuments, defensive structures from the early, classical, and late periods of Ottoman architecture. Ottoman urban layouts, water architecture, and decorative arts associated with architecture.
Objectives of the Course
To evaluate the architecture of the Ottoman Empire by taking into historical processes.
