Course Content
Summary history of art, definition of graphic arts and introduction to the history of graphic arts, art movements that prepared modernism, modern movements that directed art and design in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century, development of modern art movements in America, corporate identity and visual systems.
Objectives of the Course
In this course, the history of graphic design along with social changes is handled from the first ages to the present. From the Industrial Revolution to the Bauhaus School, the development of graphic design within the framework of social, political, economic and cultural dynamics is examined. Visual documents related to the leading graphic design products and design readings are made. Documentary films about art and design contribute to the students' recognition of the period more closely and in a lively manner.
