Methods and Techniques The course is conducted through lecture sessions delivering the theoretical framework and interactive discussion sessions focused on conceptual analysis. Practical exercises and application tasks are carried out to reinforce students' skills in analyzing raw data within the framework of the Data-Information-Knowledge-Wisdom (DIKW) hierarchy. Throughout the process, students engage in comprehensive project design and management, transforming complex data sets into actionable, aesthetic, and ergonomic information models through the lens of data literacy. Within this framework, stages such as establishing data logic, structuring visual hierarchy, and executing final project development are experienced hands-on.

Course Content
Theoretical and methodological fundamentals of information design within the framework of the Data-Information-Knowledge-Wisdom (DIKW) hierarchy; processes of analyzing, structuring, and transforming raw data into meaningful information forms through the lens of data literacy. Analysis of high-volume (big/open) data sets; data visualization, infographics, and complex wayfinding systems. Methodological and professional processes in information design: Conceptual analysis, establishing data logic, visual hierarchy, aesthetic-ergonomic criteria, and the development, project implementation, and visualization of actionable and accessible information models.
Objectives of the Course
In today's digital ecosystem, the rapid transformation of objects, phenomena, and processes into data necessitates methodological competencies for interpreting and deriving meaning from high-volume (big/open) data sets. In this course, the structuring of raw data into meaningful, actionable, and well-formed information is addressed through the lens of data literacy. Through the theoretical and practical outcomes of the course, it is aimed to train students as advanced researchers and designers capable of developing critical, interdisciplinary, and aesthetic-ergonomic solutions in areas such as data visualization, complex wayfinding systems, semantic web/linked open data, and interactive information architecture, while also analyzing the risks of misinformation and disinformation.
