Course Content
Definition of religion, terms related to religion. the phenomenon of religion in primitive communities. The place of the history of religions among the scientific disciplines, the method and the approach to the religions. studies the history of religions in the West, İslamic World and Turkey. Religious geography and living religions of today's world. Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, other Chinese religions. Some Sinkretist and new religious movements. Traditional Turkish beliefs, Islam, general history, basic characteristics.
Objectives of the Course
To give enough information about religion, nature of religion, living world religions, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism.
