Program Qualifications

P1) Have the ability to learn and use the theoretical and practical knowledge about the field of history. |
P2) Have the knowledge and skill to access scientific publications related to the field of history and to read and use Ottoman archival sources at the highest level. |
P3) Research and discuss historical events and social developments and analyze linking them with different disciplines. |
P4) Have the necessary knowledge about national and spiritual cultural values and have the ability to make others aware about his/her own field. |
P5) Have the necessary equipment about Ottoman, Seljuk and Islamic history and resources and explain their properties. |
P6) Use, resolve and apply the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the field of history for education, research and community service areas. |
P7) Have the skills of critical thinking, interpretation, and evaluation with knowledge of historical methodology and carry out studies on the field individually or in teams. |
P8) Describe, analyze and conduct comparative studies on social, political, cultural and economic events related to history. |
P9) Dominate the information and communication technologies required by the field of history and has the ability to express himself/herself verbally and in writing. |
P10) Have the ability to use language at a level that can examine historical sources. |
P11) Have general information about the history of different nations living in different parts of the world, especially in Europe. |
P12) Behave with a sense of professional ethics and does not neglect their social responsibilities. |
P13) Develop a positive approach to learning all life long; follow new developments in the field and in other relevant areas at the same time and update his/her knowledge. |
P14) Have historical heritage and historical texture preservation awareness, and are sensitive to ensuring that the consciousness spreads around. |
P15) Recognize the Turkish World. Know the origins and fundamental problems of communities around Turkey. Have knowledge of the geopolitical importance of this region. |
P16) Know the establishment process of the Republic of Turkey and the position in world history. |
