Course Content
Pre-Rome Italy and the Etruscans. The foundation of the Roman state. Social and economic structure in the Kingdom and Republic periods. Development of Roman law and relations with the West-Eastern Mediterranean regions. Christianity and Rome. Political structure. Demolition and East Rome / Byzantine. Byzantine-Turkish relations, political and religious relations with the Balkan nations. Internal conflicts in Byzantium.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to learn the level of cultural and civilization of the Roman Empire which is one of the Ancient Western Civilizations and to have knowledge about the political and social life of the Roman Civilization and to summarize the political history of the Byzantine Empire and the Roman Empire and to enable them to question the place and the effects of the Byzantine Empire on world history.
