Course Content
The political history of the Ottoman State from its establishment until 1453: the Ottoman family, Kayılar and Ertuğrul Bey, Osman Bey and the establishment of the Ottoman Principality. Ottoman - Byzantine relations, Transition of Turks to Rumeli. Yıldırım Beyazıt period. Yıldırım Beyazıt and Timur associations. Interregnum, Political events of the II. Murat period.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to examine the students the political, social and economic events that took place during the period from the establishment of the Ottoman State to the conquest of Istanbul; the situation of Anatolia in this period; the conditions under which the Ottoman Beylik emerged and developed; to understand the discussions in the scientific world about the establishment and growth of the Ottoman Principality.
