Course Content
Definition of sociology, subject, scope, basic concepts in sociology, fields of study, historical development of sociology, relation of sociology to other sciences; social groups and their properties, methods in sociology, individual relationship between society and society's impact on individuals, education and society relationship, the student's social roles and responsibilities, social mobility, status, class and stratification, culture, society and civilization relationship, current sociological study samples, important sociologists in the world and Turkey.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to provide a comprehension of the foundations of sociology; to examine the conditions of historical change and transformation of society and to evaluate historical events within this information.
