Course Content
Some of the topics covered in the course are: an overview of investment risk and return on investment, related models; effective and optimal portfolios; diversification; effective markets; basic analysis; technical analysis; fixed income securities; bond portfolios; risk management; stock valuation methods; firm valuation methods; International diversification; Funds; approaches to portfolio structuring; portfolio management strategies; dynamic portfolios; portfolio performance evaluation; procedures followed in investment consultancy.
Objectives of the Course
This course is designed to introduce international finance students to the theories and applications of investment management. Through in-class discussions, excel exercises, individual and group projects, exercises using real market platforms in the Financial Markets Laboratory, and portfolio management simulations, students will see and use the concepts and technical tools necessary to realize and effectively realize their investment decisions and analyzes. By conducting careful and detailed analyzes, students with regular, disciplined, theoretical and empirical observations will have the chance to gain experience in integrating and synthesizing basic investment and portfolio management concepts and techniques with real-life applications.
