Course Content
Foreign Trade: Foreign trade theories, multilateral and regional trade agreements, structure of foreign trade, impact of foreign trade on income distribution, protectionism, economic and political effects of barriers on foreign trade; International Finance: Balance of payments, foreign exchange market, exchange rate policies, international capital movements, financial crises
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the basic concepts and theoretical framework of foreign trade and international finance system. The first part of the course consists of two parts: foreign trade theories and policies; The second part is dedicated to the analysis of the international financial system, which is the basis for understanding the global economy.
