Course Content
Introduction to Strength-Stress Concept, Shear Force; Simple Stress, Safety Stress, Normal Strength and Uniaxial Stress, Stresses due to Temperature Change, Two Axis Stress, Strength of Thin Thick Cylinders, Bending; Simple Bending State, Elastic Curve, Torsion; Circular Sectioned Miller Torsion, Rotation of Axes, Mohr Inertia Department, Compound Strength State; Normal Force and Bending Momentin Togetherness, Normal Force and Torsion Momentine Togetherness, Bending Moment and Torsional Moment Together, Buckling and Energy Methods
Objectives of the Course
To teach basic concepts and principles of strength. To establish the substructure for stress and strain calculations for all stress situations. To gain the ability to use these in engineering applications and designs.
