Course Content
General information on service of process (definition, elements, legal nature, importance, and related concepts), types of service of process, stages of service of process, irregular service of process, the time at which service of process is to be effected, time limits to be observed in relation to service of process, the place at which service of process is to be effected, the persons to whom service of process is to be effected, offences and penalties relating to service of process, service of process under the Tax Procedure Code
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge of the fundamental principles of service of process law, the legal nature and procedure of service of process, and to equip them with the ability to assess service of process procedures carried out in judicial and administrative proceedings in accordance with the relevant legislation. The course focuses in particular on the Service of Process Act, the Regulations on the Service of Process Act, the Electronic Service of Process Regulations, and issues encountered in practice.
