2	1A) Listening & Speaking: How do you study? Understanding key information in a presentation and taking notes. Grammar: Present Simple. (Pages: 9-10-11) ASSIGNMENT: Students will be assigned a 3-minute presentation related to the field of Industrial Engineering.
3	Listening to and evaluating student presentations. 1B) Reading: Identifying text types and topics. Reading the text titled "Learning new skills", answering the questions, and taking notes. (Pages 12-13) ASSIGNMENT: TASK 4 on page 14 will be assigned as homework.
4	Listening to and evaluating student presentations. Checking assignments. 2A) Listening & Speaking: Evaluating academic websites and understanding their designs. Video: Watching a student presentation and taking notes. How should presentation language be? Signposting / Ordering words (Firstly, secondly…). (Pages 23-24-25).
5	Listening to and evaluating student presentations. ASSIGNMENT: The vocabulary section in 2D will be assigned as homework.
6	Listening to and evaluating student presentations. Checking assignments. 2C) Writing: How to describe? Academic language: Noun phrases with adjectives. Ordering adjectives. Writing a descriptive paragraph with the class. (Pages 30-31) ASSIGNMENT: Students will choose a company or an organization and describe it. (See: TASK 3) (At least 100 words)
7	Listening to and evaluating student presentations. Providing feedback on assignments. 2C) Writing: Analyzing a descriptive paragraph. Academic language: In addition, also, so, or, and, but. Writing a descriptive paragraph with the class using these conjunctions. (Again, related to a company or an organization.) Information about the midterm exam will be provided. (Pages 32-33).

VIDEO: A lecture video on this topic will be watched and notes will be taken. Grammar: Comparatives and Superlatives. (Pages 37-38-39) ASSIGNMENT: Students will introduce a city from Turkey. (See: Task 5).

11	Listening to and evaluating student presentations. Checking assignments. 4A) Listening & Speaking: Working on statistical charts. VIDEO: Watching a student presentation on global cocoa production. Academic language: Expressing numbers exactly or approximately. (Pages 51-52-53)
12	Listening to and evaluating student presentations. 5C) Writing: Writing definitions and descriptions. Academic language: a new word / idea + be + noun phrase. Writing a defining/descriptive paragraph with the class. (Pages 72-73) ASSIGNMENT: Students will describe their mobile phones or computers in a paragraph. (See: Page 75 - TASK 3) (At least 100 words) They will mention their functions, etc. They can also include descriptive sentences.
13	Providing feedback on assignments. 5A) Listening & Speaking. A lecture on biomimetics will be watched and notes will be taken. Academic language: Definitions, explanations, examples. Reading a text on anthropomorphism and taking notes. (Pages 65-66-67) WRITING ASSIGNMENT: Students will describe their rooms (either in a dormitory or at home), using defining or descriptive sentences. (At least 100 words)
