Course Content
This course covers macro trends in global insurance, the new risk environment, legal regulations, supervisory mechanisms, regulatory transformation, digitalisation in the insurance sector, the InsurTech ecosystem, the use of artificial intelligence, big data and data analytics applications, cyber risks and cyber insurance, climate risks, catastrophic risks, disasters and man-made catastrophes, current developments in the reinsurance market and alternative risk management, health insurance, private pension systems, microinsurance, parametric insurance, inclusive insurance, sustainable insurance principles, the ESG approach, data ethics, artificial intelligence ethics and fairness in insurance.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable students to evaluate current trends in global and Turkish insurance markets, the new risk environment, regulatory transformation, digitalisation and the InsurTech ecosystem, artificial intelligence and big data applications, cyber risks, climate and catastrophic risks, developments in the reinsurance market, innovations in health insurance and private pension systems, microinsurance and parametric insurance practices, sustainable insurance principles, and ethical debates concerning the future of insurance.
