The aims and principles of special education, Information about the history of special education, Children with special needs and special needs areas, Evaluation and developmental diagnosis of children with special needs, Problems with families with children with special needs, Education of parents with children with special needs, Information about the rights of children and families with special needs, The current situation in Turkey of special education Participation of the child with special needs in the family and the psychological processes experienced by the family, Defining the basic concepts of special needs and special education, Factors affecting children's development, Recognizing children with special needs (mental retardation, generalized developmental disorder, speech and speech disorders, hearing impairment, visual disability, learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, gifted), DSM V and ICD diagnostic criteria, Developmental risk factors
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is, to teach the basic principles of special education, to advance the students knowledge about individuals with special needs, to inform students about the factors causing disability, to inform students about the different diagnostic groups, to inform students about the developmental support programs which should be applied in the field of special education.
