Course Content
Concept of crisis and suicide, crisis types: situational, developmental and traumatic crises, principles of crisis intervention, crisis intervention room and its applications in emergency services, suicidal behavior as a response to crisis situation, suicidal behavior patterns, classification and epidemiology of suicides, assessment of suicide risk, suicide prevention and/or difficulties encountered in mitigation studies, social work intervention in suicide prevention with case examples.
Objectives of the Course
This course aims to provide students with the basic knowledge of crisis theory and suicidal behavior, to develop their skills in crisis intervention in various situations, and to develop individual-group and community-level social work interventions for suicide prevention studies.
