Course Content
Defining other related concepts (such as power, ethical dilemma, ethical relativism) on the basis of ethics and morals, philosophical foundations of ethics; the meaning and importance of ethics in social work practice; value debates in social work; value-ethics relationship, national and international ethical standards developed for social work; ethical dilemmas and solutions in social work practices; Subjects related to ethical decision making strategies constitute the content of the course. In the later parts of the course, discussions are carried out on cases that can create ethical dilemmas when integrated with social problems such as euthanasia, abortion, gender inequality, sexual orientation difference, and cultural relativism.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to present the ethical principles, responsibilities and values unique to the profession, which has a fundamental place in the conduct of social work practices and in the essence of the social work profession, together with its philosophical and theoretical background.
