Course Content
Parent Education, Different Approaches to Parent Education, Parent Education Programs for Preschool Children in Turkey, Family Education Programs Abroad, Parent-Child Relationship, Parent-Child Communication, Broken Families and Children, Parental Attitudes, Discipline in Child Rearing, Pathological Behaviors Related to Developmental Stages, Treatment of Behavioral Disorders in Children
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the fundamental concepts, theoretical approaches, and practices of parent education, to explain the role of families in child development, to clarify the importance of family involvement in the preschool period, and to introduce family education programs implemented in Turkey and around the world. Furthermore, it aims to provide knowledge and awareness regarding parental attitudes, parent-child relationships and communication, disciplinary approaches, the effects of fragmented family structures on children, pathological behaviors that may be observed during developmental stages, and the prevention and treatment of behavioral disorders in children.
