Course Content
This course covers concepts related to health and illness; social factors affecting health; the relationship between community health and sociological structure, anthropology/culture, and psychology; public/community health services and their management in Türkiye and around the world; health literacy; the definition and importance of public/community health; processes for protecting and promoting community health; the role of children and families in community health services; health education from a public health perspective (e.g., family planning); the roles and responsibilities of child development specialists and other professionals working in community health; communication in community health services; occupational health and safety; environmental health; and epidemiological research.
Objectives of the Course
To gain qualifications about concepts of health and illness, social factors affecting health, society sociological structure with health, anthropology/culture and psychology of the people in Turkey and the world/community health services and management, health literacy, community/the definition of public health and the importance of, public health protection and development process, child and family in public health services, health education in terms of public health (family planning, etc.), role and responsibilities of child development and other professionals serving in public health, communication in public health services, occupational health and safety environmental health and epidemiological research.
