Course Content
Developmental Psychopathology is the study of the etiology and developmental pathways of psychopathology in young children and adolescents. From a developmental perspective, pathology is perceived not merely as a disorder belonging to the individual, but rather as a problem of adaptation between the individual and their context. The study of childhood psychological disorders leads many researchers and psychologists to reconsider the boundaries between self and other, and between body and mind. Psychopathology changes and transforms throughout the developmental process depending on interpersonal relationships, educational settings, and institutional treatment. In order to understand how disorders emerge, develop, and sometimes diminish, all of these aspects must be taken into consideration.
Objectives of the Course
This course aims to enable students to adopt approaches, methods and basic findings on the developmental treatment of childhood and adolescence psychopathological phenomena.
