Course Content
This course covers concepts related to first aid and disasters, the importance and history of first aid, legislation on first aid in situations requiring first aid in Turkey, assessment of vital signs in different first aid processes, first aid interventions, the importance and history of disaster management, legislation on disaster management in Turkey, situations requiring disaster management, risk and hazard analyses, and the subject of intervention in disaster management is disaster management.
Objectives of the Course
This course contains the definition of child health; the state of child health in our country and in the world; child development in mother's womb; the effects of diseases and accidents in pregnancy on the development of the child; Physical development (dental, height, weight) of children aged 0-8, pediatric diseases seen in 0-8 year old children (diarrhea and respiratory infections, immunization and rashes, parasites, infections etc); vaccines; health problems according to women's life periods; family planning; fracture-dislocation, burning, injury, insect insertion, poisoning, foreign body swallowing etc. the first aid teacher should do in situations.

P1 All children and adolescents aged 0-18 have the necessary level of up-to-date, theoretical and practical knowledge about the areas of mental, linguistic, motor, emotional, social and emotional development. 1
P2 Based on his institutional and practical knowledge in the field of child development, he has the ability to evaluate the development of typical and atypical children with different methods and tools, develop different solutions with evidence-based approaches to problem situations, and develop support programmes, provide family counselling and inform society. 1

P4 Professional projects, research and activities for the social environment in which they live with a sense of social responsibility plan, implement and monitor and evaluate the process. 1
P5 As an example to society, democracy, human rights, social, scientific and professional ethical values, and relevant laws, regulations and legislation are respected by external attitudes and behaviour. 1
P6 Quality management and processes include the child, children and families, and the individual has sufficient awareness of, responds to, and participates in, environmental and occupational safety issues. 1
P7 She/He uses his professional knowledge and experience in collaboration with health, education, social, civil society organizations and other relevant stakeholders to maximize the benefit of the child and family, and participates in joint research, development and implementation of educational and development programmes, project planning and execution processes with relevant institutions and organizations. 1
P8 Following national and international developments in child development, he strives to improve himself individually and professionally, assesses the knowledge gained from a critical perspective, and generates innovative ideas using qualitative and quantitative data. 1
P9 They acquire knowledge and practical competence in the development of different methods, techniques, materials and programmes related to child development and compare and interpret the accuracy, reliability and validity of their achievements. 2
P10 It has a consciousness of universal and social responsibility by integrating sustainable development goals into professional work in the field with innovative, technology-based and collaborative approaches. 3
