Course Content
Development of Health Sociology; Health, disease concept; Organization of health services; organization of health services; women's social position and health-body sociology; traditional, complementary and alternative medicine; commodification of midwifery services and birth; health and religion; medicalization of society and daily life; being a parent, fetal gender preference and its causes; Examining reproductive health services from a sociological perspective; reflection of social inequalities in the field of health; economic, regional, gender and ethnic inequalities; Social roles of midwives: Examining the midwife profession from the perspective of the sociology of the medical profession.
Objectives of the Course
This course aims to provide students with knowledge about the sociology of health and to enable them to evaluate the social determinants of health, health systems and problems in the field of midwifery from a sociological perspective.
