Course Content
This course covers the concept of screening and the importance of early identification in hearing and speech disorders; it addresses hearing screening programs for newborns, children, adults, and older individuals, screening approaches for speech and language disorders, commonly used screening tools and scales, screening practices for at-risk populations, evaluation, reporting, and referral processes of screening results, ethical principles, data confidentiality, and national and international screening programs.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to emphasize the importance of screening practices in the early identification of hearing and speech disorders, to introduce screening methods used for different age groups and risk populations, and to enable students to develop skills in evaluating screening results, reporting findings, and managing appropriate referral processes.
